22^nd March 2018 – This week sees the launch of Linn’s all-new Akurate range with the addition of Katalyst DAC Architecture to Akurate DS, Akurate DSM and Akurate Exaktbox, bringing a new level of performance to the range.

Katalyst, Linn’s 4^th generation digital-to-analogue conversion technology, delivers enhanced processing power and an unprecedented level of precision at the critical point where the digital signal is converted into sound, delivering a deeper insight into music.

Already available in the Klimax range and in Akubarik and Akudorik speakers, Katalyst has received great acclaim and is recognised as an upgrade of significant proportions.

Available today as a powerful upgrade for existing owners and also shipping as standard for all new customers, the Akurate range featuring Katalyst can be heard at Linn Specialist retailers worldwide.

How does Katalyst improve on previous Linn DAC designs?
Five key aspects have been improved utilising Linn’s deep understanding of the entire digital-to-analogue process, including:

Reference Level
Now completely isolated from noise to produce a high-stability input Reference Level that generates the signal’s amplitude without variation.

Independent Power Supplies
Independent, isolated power supplies are tailored for each process, so feedback from one process cannot influence the performance of another, resulting in far lower distortion.

Data Optimisation
Linn-designed data optimisation stage that prepares the digital signal for conversion with greater accuracy, minimising errors right at the start of the process.

Master Clock
A single high precision clock with its own independent power supply ensures greater timing accuracy throughout.

Output Driver
The new ultra-low distortion analogue output driver prepares the delicate analogue signal for transmission out of the device, making it less susceptible to noise and degradation.

Akurate DS
Akurate DS is a dedicated network music player and will fit perfectly in any separates system. Sharing key technologies with Linn’s reference Klimax DS player, including the latest Katalyst, it provides outstanding sound quality in a more affordable package.

Akurate DSM
Akurate DSM possesses all the musicality of Akurate DS combined with inputs for any external sources. Now featuring Katalyst, Akurate DSM lets you hear all your music and movies with deeper insight than ever before.

Akurate Exaktbox
Akurate Exaktbox allows you to enjoy the most natural sound from your music by upgrading your speakers to the incredible performance of Exakt. The on-board Exakt digital crossover delivers a completely linear phase performance by perfectly synchronising all the frequencies produced by every note. When combined with Katalyst’s ability to ensure the highest precision at the point of the analogue signal’s creation, this is a remarkable upgrade for your separates system.

Akurate Exaktbox (6- or 10-channel) is available for owners of Linn loudspeakers and selected speakers from other manufacturers (including B&W 802 Diamond, KEF Reference 3 & 5, PMC twenty.26 and more).
